Halfpenny Theatre Welcomes You!
Benefits of halfpenny theatre
When your child enrolls in Halfpenny theatre, our goal is to increase their confidence in themselves, their ability to interact socially in a variety of contexts, and their desire to connect with their family, friends, and community. Our primary goal, while we love to develop our kids’ theatrical talents, is to grow them as whole people, not to consume their free time.

age & goal groups
Halfpenny provides Teams to address age level, capacity, and personal goals. Not all children want (or are ready for) significant speaking or singing parts. While exceptions may be considered based on previous performances or current auditions, our Teams are nearly always organized as follows:
Rising Stars Team (6-7 years old)
Our Rising Stars class is the perfect introduction to the world of musical theatre for young performers! Designed especially for 6 and 7 year-olds, this class combines acting, singing, and dancing in a fun, age-appropriate, and low-pressure environment.
Students build confidence as they learn to express themselves onstage, work together as a team, and develop performance skills—all while having a great time. Throughout the year, Rising Stars have multiple opportunities to shine in performances, and those who are ready can even audition for solos. This class is a supportive space for kids to explore their creativity and grow as a performer.
Mainstage Team (8-18 years old)
Our Mainstage group is where young performers take their skills to the next level! Open to ages 8-18, this class offers in-depth training in singing, dancing, and acting—all in a fun, supportive, and high-energy environment.
Students will dive deeper into performance techniques, stage presence, and ensemble work, all while preparing for multiple shows throughout the year. Mainstage performers also have the exciting opportunity to audition for solos and featured roles.
With more stage time, songs, and choreography than our Rising Stars, this group is designed to help students grow in confidence and ability, while preparing them for lead roles and future theatre opportunities.
Spotlight Team (11-18 years old) - Audition Only
Our Spotlight Team is an elite, audition-only group for dedicated performers ready to take center stage. Designed for experienced students ages 11–18, this group offers advanced training in acting, singing, and dancing with a strong focus on technique, storytelling, and performance precision.
Members of the Spotlight Team will take on lead roles and solos in multiple performances throughout the year. With extended weekly rehearsals and higher expectations, students are challenged to grow both artistically and professionally in a supportive, collaborative environment.
This is the perfect opportunity for young performers who are passionate about theatre and ready to push themselves to the next level.
financial investment
Expenses include the Registration fee ($20) and Production fee ($50) which are non-refundable. General Tuition costs can be found in the table below. Students who pay tuition on a yearly basis have their registration and production fees rolled into the total.
What if I need help with Tuition? If you cannot presently afford tuition for Halfpenny we have lots of options and resources we can provide. We never want finances to become the reason that a student cannot participate. Please indicate your interest in these resources on your registration form.
Cancellation Policy and Costs. If a student chooses to leave the Halfpenny program before the end of the term/year, monthly tuition already paid is non-refundable. Yearly tuition already paid will be refunded only for the full months in which the student failed to participate.
